[Demo] Opera Mobile Running on an Android Phone

Opera Mobile for Android smartphonesA day after the announcement that Opera will release a beta version of Opera Mobile for Android phones within the next month. Robin Wauters from TechCrunch sat down for an exclusive interview with Phillip Grønvold about the upcoming Opera Mobile for Android. He also showed a quick demo of Opera Mobile running on Samsung Galaxy S phone.

Opera Mobile will soon be released in public and android users around the world will be able give it a try.

New features includes pinch-to-zoom and hardware acceleration.

Pinch-to-zoom will add full control of zooming level, which improves over the current versions of Opera Mobile and Opera Mini that only have two levels of zoom, one for full page and one for reading text.

While hardware acceleration will take full advantage of the GPU power available on latest mobile phones. It will allow faster browsing and navigation speed and more fluid interaction, thus improving your browsing experience.

Opera also announced at Up North Web that Opera Mini for iPhone will receive an updated version this year featuring both pinch to zoom and hardware acceleration.
